At least 120 people have come forward to accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual misconduct, and a prominent Texas attorney is representing them.
Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee on Tuesday revealed that the victims include 60 men and 60 women, with 25 of them being minors at the time of the alleged incidents, the Associated Press reported. One of the victims, Buzbee noted, was just 9 years old when the alleged abuse occurred.
“This type of sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation should never happen in the United States or anywhere else,” Buzbee told reporters at a press conference. “This should have never been allowed to go on for so long. This conduct has created a mass of individuals who are injured, scared, and scarred.”
In response, Combs’ attorney said the performer “cannot address every baseless claim in what has become an irresponsible media frenzy.”Buzbee said that more than 3,280 individuals reached out to his firm with claims about Combs. After reviewing the allegations, the firm chose to represent 120 of them. Buzbee further explained that most of the alleged abuse occurred at parties in New York, California, and Florida, where individuals were allegedly given drug-laced drinks.
Combs has been in custody in Brooklyn since pleading not guilty on Sept. 17 to federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges in an indictment unsealed last week. He stands accused of using his “power and prestige” to coerce female victims into drug-induced sexual performances with male sex workers during events called “Freak Offs.”
Buzbee previously led the legal defense for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton during his impeachment trial last year, which resulted in Paxton’s acquittal by the Texas Senate.
