Convicted felon and presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to try and appeal to your estranged uncle, this time announcing he’ll fly to Austin to record Joe Rogan’s podcast.
Trump, who was found liable for sexual abuse last year, will sit down for the interview on Friday, the Associated Press reported.
This honestly might be a bit of poetic justice because it means Trump — who engaged in a conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 election and has been accused of sexual misconduct by at least 26 women — will now be subjected to hours of Rogan’s stoned bullshit about DMT and elk hunting.
Trump, who has declared bankruptcy six times, and Rogan, who has frequently used the n-word in previous episodes, have a torrid relationship leading up to this podcast appearance. Rogan endorsed Robert Kennedy Jr. for president a few months ago, and Trump responded by doing what he does best: whining on social media.
But now RFK Jr. has endorsed Trump, so at least all the absurd white dudes are back under the same tent. We should note that Rogan has had a number of politicians from across the spectrum on his show, including Bernie Sanders in 2020, whom Rogan later endorsed.
Some were calling for Vice President Kamala Harris to do a sit-down with Rogan, too, but she’ll be in Houston on Friday highlighting the issue of reproductive rights. Maybe she doesn’t want to have to weigh in on whether Jake Paul should fight Mike Tyson, or if we’ll be able to read each other’s minds in the future — but we live in unprecedented times.
It’s also important to note that Rogan has taken a hard right turn in recent years, especially after he spouted a bunch of nonsense during the pandemic because why wouldn’t you listen to the guy from “Fear Factor” about science?
The appearance is part of Trump’s ongoing effort to appeal to men who sing Linkin Park at karaoke and lost money on NFTs.
