H. Drew Blackburn is a columnist and contributing writer for The Barbed Wire. He has written for Wildsam, Bloomberg, the New York Times’s T Brand Studio, Netflix’s Tudum, Level, Texas Monthly, GQ, Okayplayer and Eater. He was raised in Killeen, spent his college years in Denton and his 20s in Dallas. He’s currently based in Austin. Drew sees himself as a trailblazer, a style-icon of sorts — the first man to pair Homme Plissé Issey Miyake with cowboy boots and a silverbelly Open Road.
