W. Scott Lewis is an Austin-based freelance writer and a former gun rights activist turned gun reform activist. He was a founding board member of Students for Concealed Carry and, between 2007 and 2017, served SCC in various capacities, including national media coordinator, Texas legislative director and senior advisor. He has since written guest columns about gun policy for regional and national newspapers and worked with organizations on both sides of the gun debate to find common ground.
